This workshop will focus on imagination, musicality, theatrics, critical thinking, creativity, and confidence. We will not be learning new tricks, but instead, finding new ways to approach and express with what we already know. UNDERSTANDING MUSICALITY

About the Workshop

What is musicality, how do I learn it, why is it important? If you or your students have ever asked this question, then this workshop would be a great choice. We will stay grounded for a first portion of this workshop and learn about some of the basics of music: counting, phrases, themes, and emotions. After turning abstract concepts in solid skills we will start to apply these concepts in our choreographies during the second part of the workshop.

BACK TO BASICS

About the Workshop

This is for those who have reached a plateau in their training and skill development, are running into a wall when it comes to new moves, or only do sequences on one side. The basics, while easily learned, are very difficult to master. But, by perfecting the essential skills like ankle knots, straddle ups, hip keys, and more, we can unlock a whole new range of movements and flows. We will focus on form, alignment, muscle activation, timings, and more. This course is best kept small as it will allow Brennan to individualize the workshop to each students “bad” habits and give personal recommendations to help move them in the right direction.
